Wayne MRI has the only HD MR

| Our facility adjacent to Wayne Memorial Hospital is the only logical choice for MR Imaging in Wayne County. We have two new state-of-the-art Seimens MR units in our spacious, elegant facility. The open scanner, known as the Espree, has the same powerful magnet that used to be available only in 'closed' systems. Our other unit, the Avanto, is known as a short-bore unit. This means that the opening the patient lies in is wider and shorter, and therefore more comfortable than the old 'closed' MR units.
Patient comfort is important to us, but as radiologists the quality of the images is the single most important feature of our new magnets. Because these MR units contain powerful hardware and software only recently available on the market, the images are produced faster and with higher resolution than those provided by any of our nearby competitors. An analogy can be made to high-definition (HD) televisions and the older units that are not HD. Most people see a dramatic difference in the image quality between HD TV and the older television sets. This is true of our new MR units. They can be thought of as HD MR, because the resolution is higher and the images clearer. With clearer, high-resolution images, the radiologists can make more accurate diagnoses. We can see abnormalities that might go undetected on older MR units.
Wayne MR has the only 'HD MR' units in Wayne County. It is also the only facility with on-site radiologists to supervise and optimize the MR exams. Our radiologists, members of Wayne Radiologists, P.A., are available by appointment if you have questions about your MR study. Make one of the few easy healthcare choices, and choose to have your MRI studies performed by the friendly staff at Wayne MRI.

MRI Continues to Emerge and Amaze
Now non-invasive MRI imagery may be the answer to determine the existence and extent of liver fibrosis, (read more...)

...a condition that is both a sign of liver damage and a potential contributor to liver failure.
Currently, the way to diagnosis this disorder is liver biopsy which is an invasive procedure that can cause serious side effects. There have been studies for less invasive techniques, such as blood tests and ultrasound, but so far, they have not proven sensitive enough to detect the various stages of fibrosis.
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have found advanced MRI techniques may be the best promise for early detection and intervention of liver fibrosis.

...Researchers at the University of North Carolina and University of Missouri at Columbia tell us that serotonin levels rise dramatically after we hug our loved ones or even our pooch! And that levels of stress-soothing chemicals like prolactin and oxytocin also increase. Even just ten minutes of hand-holding has calming effects. So ladies and gentlemen — start hugging!
Editor's Note: Results may vary. To avoid unwanted side effects, we recommend you have at least met the person before you hug them.

...In a recent study conducted by the Human Nutrition Research Center in Maryland, the effects of cinnamon in the prevention of diabetes and its complications were astounding. Just 1/2 teaspoon a day dusted on food lowered cholesterol levels by 7 to 27%! And triglycerides plummeted 23 to 30% in just 40 days.
Dose: Sprinkle about 1/6 of a teaspoon (just a pinch) on your food
three times a day to total 1/2 teaspoon per day. Cinnamon right
off the spice rack works just fine and tastes delicious on everything
from morning cereals, oatmeal, toast, or fruit.
